The Search Chapter 6

I land on my feet in another room, yet this one has a panther inside. Great. I have only seen a panther once in my life, just now it starts to move to my left in a circle I move to my right to counter act this. I stay low and put my hands out. there is an extremely steep slope that would be my only way of getting out. It stops with the slope to my right and the panther in front of me. I carefully slip off my shoes to climb up the slope, making no sudden movements I slip off my shoes. I quickly throw my shoes away from the panther as it charges at them I frantically climb the slope.

I make it out of the room with the panther and work my way back to the main hall. I walk out to see that the chairman of this organization has been awaiting my arrival.

"Welcome back!" he had said. "You have made it through our first test, though your friend wasn't as fortunate.

I see Harry covered in blood and his clothing burned and seared.

"What happened?!" I yell.

He then goes into explaining but I cut him off by yelling at him again.

"Go back to your rooms, there, you will be able to shower, get a change of clothing, and our medic will assist you," the chairman informs us.

The Search
Chapter 5

As I was was lead around by the two guards we had stopped two doors in which had a plain white plaque on the door, only that one had my last name on the plaque.

" Your rooms," one  guard stated, urging me to go in the one with my last name in gold letters.

I had entered in and received a lovely, little welcoming gift. Water had rapidly began to fill up the room that had only contained a bed and window. I quickly realized that this organization was trying to test me. I had moved the bed to see if there was an escape route. No luck. In my frustration I had flipped the bed upside down.

The water now at my thighs I began pounding on the door, window, and walls. I start thinking if I would die here, yet I try to brush that thought aside. I notice the now upside-down bed and see that a spoon has been attached to the underside of the bed. I see what I must do.

I take the spoon-metal and large enough to be a serving spoon for soup-and begin banging it against this dense, tainted window. Loud clangs are all that come of this. In a matter of minutes I must sit on the buoyant bed in order to keep clanging away at the window, for the danger of drowning becomes closer and closer. Adrenaline takes over as I frantically pound the window with the spoon. After what seems like hours ( In fact only three minutes ) a crack forms. Pounding at this weak spot I successfully break the widow and hop out into a yet deadlier situation.

The Search
Chapter 4

I instantly had shot to the floor, putting my hands behind my head. Harry had quickly mirrored me, dropping to the floor with his hands resting on his head. Dark sacks were put over our heads. We had been guided to a van and driven for around half an hour. Once our destination has been reach we had been led to an a large plain white table with small chair around it, except the very large one at the head of the table. The guard took off our head sacks revealing our diverse environment.  A bald man wearing a white outfit with a Black "S" on the chest, white silk pants lined with a gold shiny material near his black boots.
"Welcome my new captives," the man said with an eager smile.
A short skinny man handed him a packet of papers.
"Harry Charmicheal, and Sam . . . Sam Theckerman" he said with a negative notion leaving my last name.
" Let us welcome these newcomers to  . . . The Search, " He had announced.

The loud clapping that bounced throughout this large room made me realize that other people perched up on terraces above observing perceptively.

The Search
Chapter 3

Harry and I walked down the gray sidewalks of Richmond Virginia.  It was almost the start of winter. Gray skies were all over the east coast. Rain pattered down on house windows at night, chilly winds rolled in to remind people to where a jacket, brown leaves decorated the curbs, and the smell the of gasoline infested every home in Richmond.

With no preamble as of what was to come, Harry said "This isn't fair."

   "What isn't fair?" I question

"How the missions are distributed." Harry complained

We continued down the sidewalk.  Harry began dragging his feet; quite a small sound at that and it began to grow.

"Stop that Harry, straighten up, and act of age. You are 15, don't act as if you are 6." I lectured him.

"Alright fine Mr. "Because I'm older you I'm the boss" Harry finished.

We arrived at what to be a normal apartment complex.  Walking in Harry and I both had the feeling of being unwelcomed. The cold nervous feeling in the back of your neck. We kept on walking down the white hallways of this disguised building. We came across an elevator, still running, and still functional. Yet that was our biggest mistake entering it. All floors had the key switched to "OFF". As the doors closed making the sonorous ding, I selected floor "B2" as for us being on floor "B1". The fact we were stuck in the elevator did not frighten us, only how the one way to get out, screening for someone to open the elevator, was not an option. We were soposed to invade this building. Luckily there were handrails on the sides. We removed them and foced the door open. This tiring process of wedgeing the handrail in the door had to get deep enough for us to open it.

After a tedious hour, we got out of the elevator and wished we hadn't. Guards were there flashlights pointed at us, guns loaded and taken aim and we were the mark.

Chapter 2
August 18th 2022

I ran as fast as I could, with guards dead on my trail. As I ran the alarm sounded and I knew I had to get out. I laid a trap for the guards by simply taking hiding and taking out an ordinary hammer.  I smashed the tiles on the ground making the ground sharp, and ridged. This alter me with the crunching sound when the guards ran over it. I looked for a column and began to climb up it. With me was the key to this confusing plan. I held a ball of high pressureized tear gas covered in a few millimeters of aluminum. Of the kind that could pop if thrown on the ground. The very distinctive crunching sound ripped right though the silence.as that happened I dropped my tear gas bomb and pulled a paper gas mask out of my backpack. With that I made my leave.

My companion and partner in crime had been waiting for me in the shadows of a large pepper tree. We started our mission with a delay and now it's ending with one. As the car was starting it sputtered and hiccuped.  After a good ten minutes of engine truoble we had finally gotten somewhere.

One week earlier

I  had started my day off great just for it to be put down, again

" I've got the worst mission possible!" My friend Harry Carmichael complained to me.

The Search

Chapter 1

          August 18th 2022

The security guards were about to start the night shift."Right on time" I thought to myself. I watched from the ceiling how the day guard, waited for his shift to end and for the night watch to take his place.  I watched him yawn, his mouth widened ,as many thick and young wrinkles formed around his mouth. He closed the large  metal doors, once those were closed, nobody got in and nobody got out. Sleepily, the guard walked down the hall to go home. Before he cut the corner and walked down the hall, I threw a plain round copper ball. Right after the clink I would imagine the guard running to where the sound was made, however, he went from moving at the pace of a snail, to moving at the pace of a turtle. You could say it was that very guard's fault that the U.S army was now in my father's control.

Before the door completely closed I slipped in quietly.  I sprinted down the hall as quiet as possible. The tap-tap-tap noise of my sock-like shoes hitting the ground started to grow in sound. I realized how loud it was towards the final stretch of the hallway. I then knew I had to move, and fast. I pulled out a body bag, set it in a corner and hid in it. The night watch almost instantly came to where I was.

I then remarked to myself "If ten night watchers were ready to come here, then there is a tighter hold on this place than I had thought."

" One of me, an overflow of them." I murmured to myself.

I quickly opened my body bag, unveiling myself shouted " Oh, gosh this seems fair " sarcastically.
